Getting Grass Stains Out!

How to spot-treat tough stains for kids clothing

Step-by-Step approach to battle dirt and grass stains and save those pants! This also works on heavy dirt stains.

  1. In a small bowl mix white vinegar and baking soda and scrub with a small sponge, brush, or rag on all spots for 1-2 minutes.
  2. Then sprinkle some laundry detergent in the mix.
  3. Add water and scrub a little more.
  4. Let sit at least 10 minutes and then wash on a regular warm cycle.

*Another way I have found to get dirt and other dark stains out is Hydrogen Peroxide. Scrub it and let it sit a few hours or more. Then wash. You can also use Vinegar and water in equal parts.

SHORTCUT

You can also buy bleach for colors to pre-treat by scrubbing it into material for a minute using a small brush or sponge. You only need a small amount. Let sit 10 minutes or what ever directions on back of the product advise. Then wash in warm water on a regular wash cycle.
